Textile Flora

Functional and decorative textiles about landscape by Claire Crompton

Textile Flora Winter Exhibition

Textile Flora standing in silent winter landscapes;
trees clothed in hard frosts and a falling of snow,
dark trees laced against the pale light.
Lost leaves reveal secret rookeries and nests,
awaiting the spring return.

I combine recycled threads and fabric with mixed media to create my collections of natural forms and landscapes. For this collection, I was inspired by the midwinter hard edges and stark outlines that define the hedgerows and fields.
