Textile Flora

Functional and decorative textiles about landscape by Claire Crompton

Textile Flora Spring Exhibition

“Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May” (Shakespeare, sonnet 18)

Wind-scattered hawthorn seeds caught in dark places, hybridising and corrupting gentle blooms; wind-shaken blossom dissolving into black earth; Textile Flora breaking away from domestic vessels.

I combine recycled threads and fabric with mixed media to create my collections of natural forms and landscapes.

Exhibited at The Byre Gallery, March to April 2015
